Meet the team: Molly Elvin, Head of New Business at Ingenuity

Meet Molly Elvin, our Head of New Business.

Molly has spent 1,134 days at Ingenuity, starting out as an Account Manager, moving to Senior Account Manager in February 2019 and then being promoted to Head of New Business in December last year.

1. How would you describe Ingenuity in just three words?

Never the same.

2. What has been a standout moment work-wise for you whilst working here?

There’s been so many highs over the last 3 years, I can’t pick just one! When I was an account manager, I loved seeing a new campaign or advert launch where I had a hand in building the brand/agency relationship behind it. Also, creating a graduate scheme and seeing our first two recruits become some of the brightest stars at Ingenuity has been amazing.

3. What social or company party has been your fave and why?

Our Christmas parties and summer socials are always amazing, but it’s our annual Ingenuity quiz, run by our Managing Partner Duncan Wood, that is my favourite. The competition is fierce, but my crisp tasting is unrivalled.

4. What book or podcast would be number one on your recommended list and why?

Pandora Sykes’ ‘Doing it Right’ is a podcast about the struggles of modern-day life and anxieties – cancel culture, becoming distracted by trivial outrage, navigating change and more. I also just bought her book on the same theme “How do we know we’re doing it right”.

It sounds like I’m on some self-help journey, but really, it’s just interesting to read and listen to discussions around the things that consume us in 2020, especially picking apart the whys and hows. I can’t imagine it was the same, 100 years ago, or even 10.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I bought a bike during lockdown which has been my savior. Cycling through London on a weekend is the perfect as it’s allowed me to explore new places (& pubs).

6. Who would be your three ideal dinner party guests and why?

Jacinda Ardern – To hear first-hand her experiences in leading with kindness and integrity as a woman in 2020.

Louis Theroux – A modern-day national treasure, I’m sure he’s got plenty of juicy stories.

Billie Eilish – She achieved more than I ever will before she was even 14, she also seems so grounded, despite being a global phenomenon – I’m obsessed!
